Water clock padlet

Water Clock Experiment

Water Clock Experiment:

Problem:
How much water drips in 15 minutes

Materials:
  • Plastic cup
  • Beaker/Measuring cup (not to big)
  • Pin
  • Water

What did we do?

  1. We poked a small hole at the bottom of the plastic cup and then we placed the plastic cup in the beaker.
  2. Then we poured some water into the plastic cup and we started the 15 minute timer.
  3. We waited for 15 minutes.
  4. When the timer was done we quickly took the plastic cup and blocked the small hole so that no water could get out. We then tipped out the extra water that was inside the plastic cup and measured the water inside the beaker.
  5. Then we repeated it again until we knew for sure our measurements were accurate.

Observation:

1st attempt:
The water was dripping very slowly and it would sometimes stop. We would have to shake and move the cup whenever the water would stop dripping. For the first trial, the results for 15 minutes was 30mls.

2nd Attempt:
The water dripped faster than the first attempt and we squeezed the cup whenever it stopped dripping. We also got a higher result which was 45ml. We didn't do 30 minutes but we estimated that it should've been around 80 ml.

3rd attempt:
We didn't get to do the third attempt.

Conclusion:
We conclude that our results differ from one another because in our second attempt we loosened the plastic cup . This could be the cause why the water dripped faster than the first attempt.

What I think of chocolate?

Dear Hershey's and Kitkat

I love your chocolate but there are 2 problems. One of my concerns are that chocolate contains palm oil. Palm oil is very bad for animals habitats they lose so much that animals are dying from extinction. If they don't have habitats think what will happen to them.

Secondly I have watched this video and it changed my mind about eating chocolate. In Ivory Coast have been using children to do their work in planting and gathering cocoa nibs.  This is what you call child labor. We have been studying on this and it is very sad.

Chocolates are treats but when you think about it you feel sad for the children who are used in child labour and slavery.  Many children’s lives and families are destroyed because of these issues. I will not give this matter up because children and animal has rights of their own.

Please remove palm oil, use some alternatives.  Get your cocoa nibs from other sources but not from Africa, this will stop child trafficking and slavery. This will make me happy if chocolate was palm oil free and also if children had a right to stand up for themselfs.

I wish you will keep this in mind--

How to use the toilet?

How to use the toilet?

How to use the toilet? Have you seen someone walking out of the toilet and wondered what they were doing? Babies need potty training (right) well when a baby is finished potty training, they will start using toilets. Then they will start locking the door, if anyone needs help going toilet just read this.

So first of all you have to clean the toilet if you're in a public toilet or even at your home. But after that you have, take off your pants and undies and sit down on the toilet and get comfortable. Sit properly.  If you're not in a proper position you won’t be comfortable.
And also sometimes this is the time for people to read a book so you don’t get so bored thinking about it. After, use a generous amount of toilet paper don't use too much toilet paper you could end up clogging the toilet and you wouldn’t want to do that. Well if you do, maybe you have to clean it up yourself. Hard work!!

Well the next step is flushing, the reason why you flush is to keep the toilet clean and ready for use for the next person to use it. You wash hands with soap because it is hygienic and it washes the germs off.

So that is how to use the toilet I hope that my explanation help you understand the importance of using the toilet properly. We are not babies to make mess, are we?
